"It is a sign of strength, not of weakness, to admit that you donīt know all the answers." - John P. Loughrane There was a time in our life when we felt we had to have all the answers. Otherwise, we wouldnīt be admired or respected. Knowledge was the key to success and it fed our self-importance. We know now that we donīt and canīt have all the answers.
Now we can be thankful that we donīt have to pretend. We donīt know how to run our life, but we know that God does. We donīt always know what we should do, but we know how to find out. It wasnīt until we surrendered to our powerlessness, in fact, that our Higher Power was able to restore our sanity. Admitting we need help offers us the strength we always sought but never had.
I take comfort in not having the answers but knowing who does.

When I was nominated for service in NA, one of the many questions I was asked was, "Are you willing to ask for help?" In NA, it is stressed that this is a "We" program and that we don't it alone.
Service was a big part of my recovery. I have done it in AA, NA, and in Al-Anon. Helping others, help others, helped my self-esteem, self-respect, self-worth, and kept me clean and sober.
Isolation is part of my disease, not a part of recovery. Reach out and share with someone today.
