So it has been since 1999 anyways since I have been on this site, or it went down. I was the Canadian lady that was married to the logger alcoholic and we had two little kids and lived out in the bush. I left him in March 2000. Many of you begged me to leave him and I just wouldn't go. I will get into circumstances in later posts, but yup I finally left and yup life is a lot better.
i still have bills and I am soo busy with the kids, but now they are big and things are finally slowing down for me. The kids are doing well. Life is really pretty good. I have gained weight and have some credit card debt, those are about the only two things that depress me, but otherwise life is a lot better than it was.
I am so much better off alone, but yeah I did have two failed relationships after I left the alkie. I don't think I will ever have a good relationship again, better off alone I think.
Anyhow I am just wondering where everyone is at in their lives.
I remember Lin, I have been reading your posts, I remember Big Mama and Splitfrog. I just want to know how you are all doing.

Hello Broomhilda!

In my life I am still married..40 years now. Hubby is still active in his drinking. I have ove 16 years of receovery and it has helped me find peace and serenity.

In 2002 I joined Weight watchers and lost 60 pounds. Then I went to work for WW as a leader. Today I lead 4 meetings a week and still teach 4 days a week. I am quite happy with how things are going for me.

I dont stop by here as often as I used to, because I am quite busy.

Great hearing from you!

LIN

Great to hear from you Lin!! That is excellent you have lost so much weight!!! I wish... one thing when I left the alkie, I have gained 35 pounds...
I just hate the way I look. I should try weight watchers, I sure need something.
I am glad you are still married and doing OK. I did not want to leave the alkie, but it was really affecting my kids. I still wish I had done things different, but the alkie is now living in his car and just messed up. Sooo bad, the kids are really disgusted with him. THere was really no other way to go, I was eventually going to get hurt really bad if I stayed with him, but good for you for staying and feeling positive.
I often think if I could lose weight, I could really improve my outlook. I am pretty negative about men, and probably won't have many relationships the way I look right now. Anyhow stay in touch and good to hear from you. I am interested in how you lost the weight with weight watchers, the plan you chose, the foods you ate, etc.

I did not come back to reply to you Broomhilda.
I totally agree. When I lost weight my life really changes. I started feeling much better abtou myself and my situation. My self esteem soared. I am much happier today. I ahve kept off most of my weight and I am so grateful for that!

I do hope you find a way to be happier. It can be a miserable life if we allow it!

LIN
