Our entire universe is energy -- vibrating waves of pure potential. How well do we communicate with others? Often, when we are interacting with others, our attention in both speaking and listening is focused on meeting our own needs.
Our communication skills improve when we can open to be aware of the needs of the other person. When we listen, we can release the filters that serve our own needs for security and receive the message with our compassionate heart. And when we speak, we can choose words that the listener is able to receive. True communication happens when we harmonize with the other individual.

DO THE NEXT THING
Keeping a little ahead of conditions is one of the secrets of business.
The time to repair your roof is when the sun is shining.
So, do things before they need to be done.
Let your advance worrying become advance thinking and planning.
Position yourself ahead of time in the best place for you.
You'll gain the advantage in any situation through the medium of time.
When you think ahead of any approaching action
you'll always have the advantage.
You'll be the winner.
When you do what is necessary,
all the odds are in your favor.

THERE IS NO ACHIEVEMENT WITHOUT GOALS
The indispensable first step to getting the things you want out of life
is
this:
decide what you want.
You must first establish your objectives
if you're going to accomplish anything in a big way.
Goals give you a place to start and a final destination.
People with goals succeed because they know where they're going.
Determine what you want.
Decide on your major objectives, targets, aims, and destination.
If you don't know where you're going, how can you expect to get there?
What are your goals?
What are you doing to reach them?
Plant your dreams, nourish and begin to live them.
The most important thing about a goal is having one.
For many years, I didn't have dreams and goals. For me it is getting up in the morning, living my day to the best of my ability and giving thanks at night for the blessing along the way.
Last night I attended a volunteer appreciation night held by the Hamilton Detention Center. I have volunteered for nine years all told but have been going into the jail to talk to Young Offenders and the Women for fourteen years. My goal is to continue doing it. Last year I received a Community Service Award for recognition of the time I have give at the institution. One of the best meetings I have every had was at a YO meeting. I walked in and not many were around. I found a face from AA and was asked to join his table. We were joined by another AA member and his wife and five guys from NA, along with a minister of Jehovah Witness.
I carry the message so others can have dreams too. |

SUCCESS IS WAITING FOR YOU

There are no age limits on when you can transform your life.
Change is possible at any time.
It is essential if you want to grow.
You have control over your life.
Success or failure is up to you.
You control how lucky you are.
You create your wealth with your effort.
The doubts you'll experience along the way are part of life.
Make a plan to attain your success and stick to it.
Your life is a marathon, not a short sprint.
Accept total responsibility for your actions
and remove 'QUIT' from your vocabulary.
Decide you want success and it can be yours.
Success is always your choice.
Sucess can mean many things to people. We are a diverse lot. For me, it is simply allowing changes to take place in my life and getting out of my own way. It isn't about how much money I have or how many firnds I have, it is about how I travelled the journey. How I treated others along the way, my attitude and actions. Did I put down someone to make me feel better? Did I take my program with me in my daily life? As they say, the failure is in the not trying. It doesn't matter if you try and things don't work out. For me, that just means the time wasn't right, the situation wasn't right for me, and things happen when and how they should, not always the way I would like them. For me this means, what yard stick are you measuring by. |

OPPORTUNITY KNOCKS ALL THE TIME
Opportunity is around you all the time,
but you have to be ready for it.
When your chance comes,
you must be prepared to take advantage of it.
The race is not to the swift or the battle to the strong,
for time and chance happen to everyone.
Take a second look at what appears to be someone's 'good luck.'
You'll find not luck but preparation,
planning and success-producing thinking.
When you're prepared for opportunity,
your chance for success is sure to come.
The season of failure is the best time for sowing the seeds of success.
The tide of opportunity comes to everyone.
Even to you.
This reminds me of what my friend Pat said to me several years ago. "Put it out to the Universe and see what you get back." |

WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET
Visualize what you want.
See it, feel it, believe in it.
Your mind is your mental workshop.
You can build anything you want in it.
Make your mental blueprint and then begin construction.
See things as you would have them be instead of as they are.
Use your imagination to perceive your new reality
even when it's not fully materialized.
Remember, you must first clearly see a thing in your mind
before you can do it or have it.
Your imagination will show you how to turn possibility into reality.
The beginning of your success is in your imagination.
First think, then organize your thoughts into plans.
Then transform your thoughts into reality by taking some positive
action.
See the things you want as already yours.
Think of them as yours, as belonging to you,
as already in your possession.
Picture yourself as having already achieved your goal.
Dreams and ideas can cross continents and oceans.
They go anywhere you can go.
This is a positive way of looking at "Wherever I go, I take me with me. |

If you don't have a dream,
how are you going to make it come true?
By visualizing your goals,
you'll get your subconscious to work
toward making those mental pictures come true.
You'll gradually grow into the conditions you desire,
provided you first make yourself in habitual mental attitude
the person who corresponds to those conditions.
Walk boldly and confidently in the direction of your dreams,
and make every effort to live the life you imagine,
and you'll meet with success unexpected in common hours.
Far away, there in the sunshine, are your highest aspirations.
Believe that you can reach them,
look up and see their beauty, believe in them,
and try to follow where they lead.
The only way to discover the limits of the possible
is to go beyond them into the impossible.

A GOOD SYSTEM SHORTENS THE ROAD TO A GOAL
Having an intelligent plan is your first step to success.
With a plan, you know where you're going.
You'll know what progress you're making.
And you'll have a pretty good idea of when you can expect to arrive.
Meticulous planning will enable everything you do
to appear spontaneous to other people.
Your goals can only be reached through the vehicle of a plan.
One in which you fervently believe,
and upon which you will vigorously act.
There is no other route to success.
What do you want to achieve or avoid?
The answers to these questions are your objectives.
How do you go about achieving your desired results?
The answer to this will be your strategy.
A good plan permits you to frame your life
so that at some time in the future
fact and your dreams will meet.
Success or failure is often determined on the drawing board.
I was never much of a planner. I was a reactor. In today, I makes plans, but don't plan the outcome. I live very much in the moment and just try to go with the flow.

Success is connected with continuous action.
It's largely a matter of hanging on after others have let go.
You're not finished when you're defeated,
you're only finished when you quit.
The most important quality essential to success is perseverance.
It overcomes almost everything, even nature.
You can have a fresh start any time you choose.
Failure is not in the falling down, but in the staying down.
It's not over until it's over.
If you've got the courage to stick it out, you'll attain your goal.
Winning isn't everything, but wanting to is.
If at first you don't succeed, try, try, try again.
I get two messages from this. The most important thing is that even if I try and fail, it is okay. The failure is in the not trying.
The second reminder is that a day can start any time. When things get rough, I can turn everything over to my HP and start a new day. |

and each thing in it's own period, and each obeying its own law.
As events tend to repeat themselves,
the tide of opportunity will come to you.
Be prepared and your chance for success is sure to come.
Look around you. Seize an opportunity to change your life.
You can change chance into good fortune if you are ready.
The only sure thing about your luck is that it will change.
Not a big believer in luck or chance. But I do believe in Divine Intervention and know that everything is subject to change. Whether or not is is lucky always remains to be seen. Lucky for who? |

SUCCESS IS THE RESULT OF WELL DIRECTED ENERGY
The first rule of success,
and one that supersedes all others,
is to have energy.
It's important to know how to concentrate it.
Focus your energy on important matters
instead of frittering it away on meaningless things.
Nothing will add more power to your life
then concentrating all your energies
on a limited set of goals.
You must focus the full power of all you are
on what you have a burning desire to achieve
if you truly want to be successful.
Gather in your resources,
rally all your faculties,
marshall all your energies,
focus all your capacities upon attaining your objectives.
You must be single minded,
and drive for the things you have decided upon.
The sun's rays do not burn until brought to a focus.
I always considered the sun a great healer. It is important for me to be in the sunlight. This is why isolation isn't good for me. I need the Light of day. |

YOU ARE THE MASTER OF YOUR FATE
While your character is formed by your circumstances,
your own desires can do much to shape those circumstances.
What is really ennobling in the doctrine of free will is the conviction

you have the power over the formation of your own character.
Nature is at work around you.
Character and destiny are her handiwork.
She gives you love and hate, jealousy and reverence.
You have the power to choose which impulses you will follow.
You can at any time decide to alter the course of your life.
No one can ever take that away from you.
You are the master or your joys and your sorrows.
The greatest power you possess is the power to choose.
You are the master of your fate.
You are the captain of your soul.
This reminds me that I am my own worst enemy. It is always best to get out of my own way and allow my HP to work through me. That is why each morning I say the Third Step Prayer and follow it with the Seventh.

as having already achieved your goal.
See yourself doing the things you'll be doing
when you've reached your destination.

Olympic medalists use the art of mental rehearsal or visualization.
They mentally run through important events before they happen.
Decide what you want out of your life.
Sense it before you have it.
See it, feel it, taste it, smell it and imagine
the emotions associated with the attainment of your goal.
Pre-live it in your mind before you have it.
Your vision will become a powerful driving force in your life.
See the things you want as already yours,
and one day, they will be yours.
As my friend says, "Put it out to the Universe and see what you get back. Unfortunately, I did this and got into my last relationship. I realized I didn't visualize it through long enough! Mind you, thanks to being in that relationship, I was able to go for Sexual Assault Counselling and clear up some of my past issues I hadn't dealt with. I thought I had, yet there was still a lot of anger I hadn't dealt with.
