Subject: Easy E.'s 65th AA B'day

Hi, everyone -

Ben H. asked me to send this around to everyone on my AA email list.
Easy E. will celebrating his 65th sobriety birthday on Thursday,
November 15th, 2007. He will take his chip at the end of the regular
6:00 p.m. meeting at Happy Hour group on Thursday. Everyone is
invited.

Ben is also encouraging everyone to send him a birthday card via snail
mail at the following address:

Easy Edney
6318 Willow Glen Drive
Montgomery, AL 36117

Ben says that a card will be particularly cherished, ad Easy will be
able to go back and read them over and over, whereas he may have
difficulty remembering all the well-wishers he will see at the chip
celebration.

Please feel free to forward this to any members of the fellowship that
are not on the recipient list above - but only to members of the
fellowship, as the address contains Easy's last name.

Thanks,

Don Dietz

Wow.

Sixty five YEARS....

Thanks for passing this on, Laurie.
Boy would I LOVE to attend that meeting--guess I send off a card, instead.

Goes to show that the the program works. I have gone to meetings with a few old timers that had 45 +. They where at the age they would tell the same thing over and over and I swear I have heard it enough that I can do a better job of telling it than they can. But the funny thing is. They still teach me things and I still respect and admire them.

I love sitting next to the oldfarts. Truth is, I make it my mission to find the crankiest, crabbiest oldfart that's in the room.

There's a fella Monday nights who tries to get away from me whenever I walk into the room. LOL Never fear! I'm a persevering type.....and I'm not so shy that I won't move a chair just to be sitting next to him.
Cranky one, that oldfart. LOL I have this personal mission to weasle my way into his heart.
He repeats himself a lot, too.
I won't repeat WHAT he repeats....LOL..I'd be banned for !!Language!!. But he has these moments when he shares--everyone else disappears and I hear the message really, really clear.
And then the meeting's over and he tells me "go AWAY, *#MMIT!". I hug him and giggle and he pretends to not hug me back.
I love that oldfart...secretely he loves me, too....even if he does think my name's *#mmit.
