Addiction is a disease of perception. How I saw my past and how my sister's saw things are three seperate stories. Each has their own understanding. I shared something with the sister who was in the middle and she looked at me and said, "My, you were one sick puppy weren't you!" This same sister suffered from depression and had her own demons to chase. Neither of my two sisters have a problem with alcohol. They just chose not to drink and got involved in the church. They have both said that they felt that if they had made the decision to drink, they would drink alcoholicly.
