The next day, August 2 1998, I went to my 2nd meeting and that is still my sobriety date. Many things have happened since, and I can remember most of it, unlike the 1990's which is a lost decade. I've done much service, gone thru the steps a few times, still go to meetings. In personal life, good and bad things have happened; I've been able to weather the bad things with what I have learned in AA. The good outweighs the bad, as well. When I recently celebrated my 10th anniversary, I thought about this website and wanted to post. I'm glad that this is still a way to reach suffering alcoholics, in and out of the rooms of AA. I don't remember the name of the person in the chat room 10 years ago. I'm grateful for this website, AA, and that there was a person to help me go from the website into AA recovery. Oh, by the way, Denver has over 1100 meetings each week and has great sobriety. And some of my service has been answering the phone when someone calls AA. This is such a cool deal.
